Digipak; main image (back)

With regards to the back cover of my digipak I decided to experiment with the silhouette idea, however I wanted a more subtle effect for the back, due to the fact that the audiences main focus should be the track list featured on the back, incorporated within my design. Therefore to do this I started trialing with block colours, these having been selected from the mountain image. I eventually picked a bluey-grey colour, and a beige-grey that I thought captured the overall ambience of freshness I wanted the digipak to envoy. The below images are the result of this first stage of experimentation, after not having made a decision on one specific colour.

As a result of experimenting with colour, I came to the conclusion that even though I wanted the back cover to be subtle and understated, this design seemed too basic and showed no real relevance. Therefore Adding another layer to accompany this, however still allowing the colour to show through. This extra layer featured a line drawing, completed freehand myself, that is a silhouette of the model, yet showing more features. As shown below this was placed above the previous layer adding more depth.
