The short film will start with two small children (most likely both female) in a bedroom setting. A woman will enter the bedroom and asks one of the children 'who are you talking to?' When the shot switches to the view of where the two girls were, there is now only one. The girl replies saying '(other girls name) of corse!' This then fades to some montage shots of the two girls together for example; At a park or in a playground at school. Montage shots begin of significant points in time such as; tooth falling out, learning to ride a bike and the first day of school. For all of these shots the imaginary friend is present and involved somehow within the event. As the montage shots progress, the passing of time is signified -Through the changing of actors/actresses, that are older than he previous. These shots transition into older activities including; parties, first kiss, learning to drive, first cigarette and first break up. (The imaginary fiend is not incl...

For my final idea I chose idea 1 as my final choice, this is primarily due to the fact that I think it will really stretch me with regards to my skill in this subject. Although it is overly difficult to execute, I think the pay off will be far more rewarding if I can successfully convey to the audience the idea that this is a girl growing away from her imaginary friend.

My first idea was a music video about an unwanted teen pregnancy, I feel as though this may be difficult to execute if pulled off could be a very strong narrative, as well as being quite an unusual idea for a music video. it doesn't follow a stereotypical romantic narrative whereby its a 'boy meets girl' situation, it follows more of a dramatic element with hints of romance. With this particular idea, the storyline is clear and and fairly easy to follow, as well as there only really needing to be three actors cast. However the idea itself is quite controversial and would require a lot of research and careful planning, as it is quite a sensitive subject to touch on and could potentially be quite distressing for some viewers. Also a very skilled actress would be required in order to convey the immense raw emotions that would be felt during a distressing time such as this, she would be required to cry on cue and have to show a devotion to this project if I were to choose t...

10. A short film in its entirety, lasting approximately five minutes, which may be live action or animated or a combination of both, together with two of the following three options: a poster for the film a radio trailer for the film; a film magazine review page featuring the film This is the OCR specification, as to what is required of me within this coursework task, taken from the OCR 'Advanced portfolio in media'.There was a wide variety of options to choose from, including- a music video, a film trailer and the first two pages of a newspaper etc. As you can see from the above specifications I have chosen to create a short film as my year 13 coursework piece, the main contributing factor as to choosing to create a film is due to the fact that last year I created a film opening for my coursework, and this obtained high marks. Therefore, after creating a film opening last year this developed my skills with regards to photoshop and after effects. This year I ...

EVALUATION After having presented my ideas to the group I received feedback on those ideas I presented, this gave me a bigger picture as to other peoples opinions, and not just my own. With regards to the feedback, I found it to be a good form of constructive criticism. All members of the group responded well to my pitches and there were mixed reviews on which idea people preferred. The idea in which people seemed to prefer less was the idea that could have been a short film or trailer, whereby a girl finds a stack of newspapers about a missing girl; featuring herself. And the general favourite seemed to be the storyline involving the imaginary friend. Although with regards to the imaginary friend plot idea it was said that this may be quite difficult to execute in terms of the time frame that the film is set over, as it is a span of many years combined into a short film showing the characters ageing development. Therefore meaning I would need multiple actors of different ages that...

Idea 1) Music video- This music video will be centred around the idea of emotion and pain, similar to that of Hozier's 'Take me to church' it explores consequences of love. we get an insight into the life of a young girl who is in a relationship, but faces the consequences in a devastating manner. She soon learns she is pregnant but has no intention of keeping the baby, her mother is against the idea of abortion having being a catholic she believes it should not be condemned and is strongly against her views. The girl goes to any means necessary in order to abort the pregnancy herself. The song that will accompany this video is SYML's 'Where's my love'. Idea 2) Trailer- This trailer will follow a non-linear, thriller structure in which a female is looking for her mums hairdryer in her parents bedroom, she searches everywhere including underneath the bed. She stumbles across a set of tattered newspapers and posters, they all follow the same story about a ...
