Digipak; First attempt

This is the original image taken of the actress, before the editing process started. The reason for choosing this image is due to the fact that it is a close up shot of the model, capturing the most emotion. Also as she is facing side profile you can perfectly see the silhouette of her facial features i.e her nose and lips ensuring that it is completely visible when doing the double exposure.
The background form this image was removed using the quick selection tool, in order to make sure the sole focus was the model also because the background is irrelevant and will be changed later on in the process anyway. This image was then desaturated in photoshop, due to the fact that it makes the models features more contrasting with the blacks and greys, showing the darkness in her hair and eyes, guaranteeing that when the double exposure is completed the features are still visible and peeking through the image behind.
Using the images of various scenery, I then chose one and performed a double exposure to have this image behind the image of the model, almost looking as though it is contained within the boundaries of her outline. This double exposure was created though having three separate adjustment layers  adjustment layers; one that is the block white background behind the outline of the model (colour fill 1), the other being- the copied outline of the model (layer 2). The final one being of the nature backing image, linked to the silhouette made through the quick selection (layer 2). To show both the face of the model and the image behind, the opacity of both the image of the model and the image behind were altered to 40% so that both layers are fully visible through one another.

This was later completed with a different model image and different back image, to try and get a feel for the different effects this double exposure effect may have.
