CHANGING MY IDEA
After having shot a few scenes with the two youngest child actors, I soon came to the realisation that I was unhappy with the choice I had made with regards to my narrative. By changing my idea I feel as though I may become more invested with my project, as at this present point in my coursework I feel unmotivated with the original idea I chose. Therefore I came to the conclusion that if I were to change narratives I may become more engaged with my new idea. As well as changing the narrative I feel as though I may change the point of doing a short film and instead change to a music video, this would not be too much of a hassle due to the fact that I was unsure as to which road to go down anyways, therefore when I did previous work I did a mixture of research for a music video and a short film. Although overall it does mean I will have more work to do as I will need to then re-complete previous work I have completed such as my storyboards, choosing locations and chosen genre.
NEW NARRATIVE;
my new narrative will follow the storyline of one of my initial ideas I pitched at the beginning of my research, this being the teen pregnancy idea. The music video will begin with a girl and her boyfriend together- different types of shots of them doing various activities together, you then see the female character burst through a toilet door and kneel down in front of a toilet, presumably being sick. You then see a shot of her buying a pregnancy test - returning to the toilet to then learn that she is pregnant. The girl appears distresses and breaks down into tears. She proceeds to tell her boyfriend who will somehow be shown to break up with her (perhaps over text etc). Various shots of the girl will be shown of her feeling depressed confused about what to do, spending a lot of time by herself. I would somehow show that the girl wants to get an abortion- perhaps through the use of a leaflet, at some point in all this she decides to tell her mum, who, it is clear to see is not happy with her decision to have an abortion.- this could maybe be shown with the mother ripping up the leaflet. A few other shots, including close ups to convey emotion to show how depressed and upset the girl is. The girl can then be seen running a bath- to which she steps in , with some sort of sharp object like a knife. This would then switch to a close up of her feet in the water with blood dripping into the water, this would then lead onto the final shot of an over the shoulder shot of a woman stood at a grave, which would then pan around to show a baby in her arms.
